Last week I spent five days with a group of people – new to Breema and seasoned students – who met in this beautiful place to practice 6 hours each day the Art of Being Present.
The experience of practicing and receiving Breema bodywork is really unique. Maybe not so much in its outer form, but in the guidance and support we receive from the Nine Principles of Harmony and the Breema philosophy. When we work with them while doing the bodywork (and actually in any activity in our daily lives), this inner work allows us to connect to ourselves, to others and to life in a new and more harmonious way. The non-judgmental approach and the gentle yet firm movements and touches allow our whole system – body, mind, and feelings – to relax and to work together in a more balanced and more receptive way.
Breema really means to come out of concepts and ideas to the actual taste of life in the very moment. In exploring and pondering the experiences we have while giving and receiving Breema bodywork – in relation to the wisdom of the Breema philosophy, we come to new and deeply nourishing insights about who we really are.
This way we also learn how to meet the challenges of life (which also occur while practicing the bodywork) in a way that includes focus on our own well-being, acceptance of what we see about ourselves, and confidence in our true nature. Our energy doesn’t get drained so much – when we are present we even have access to a new and fresh supply of energy.
Being present in the moment allows us to be simple, content with what is and in peace. And how heart-warming it is to get that reflected back in the eyes and faces of the other participants.
I am filled with gratitude that I have Breema in my life!
